Set in old Peking, the pantomime tells the tale of Aladdin, the poor son of Widow Twankey, who falls in love with the beautiful Princess Jasmine. Her father, the Emperor, has plans to marry her off to the highest bidder. Abanazar, the sorcerer, is also hell-bent on achieving great fortune, using his magic ring to help him. The only person in the land who can open the cave that contains the magic lamp and its genie happens to be Aladdin. Kidnap, intrigue and deceit descend into farce, slapstick and hilarity as Aladdin, Widow Twankey, Wishee-Washee Twankey, PC Ping, PC Pong, the Princess, Emperor, Slave of the Ring, Genie and a supporting chorus travel old China and international landmarks on their way to defeating the baddie and living happily ever after!
